Instructions

Getting Started

Setting up your MCP Server is easy and only takes a few minutes.

We offer free credits and you don't need to subscribe to a paid plan to use the MCP Server.

  1. Create a free account at viral.app.
  2. Create a new organization (you can skip adding members or tracking accounts).
  3. Click on the "MCP Server" button in the sidebar one the left and pick your favorite client. You can ignore the subscription screen.
  4. You are set up! Let's try your first request: How many followers has iShowSpeed on TikTok?

Manual Setup

Cursor

In Cursor, first open the MCP Server settings either by navigating there manually or by using the Open MCP Settings command in the command palette (⌘+⇧+P).

Then click on Add Server and insert the following values:

Now make sure to enable the viral.app server by clicking on the toggle button. This should trigger an OAuth window to authenticate your account. Then, you can start using the server within Cursor AI Pane, simply by asking TikTok analytics questions.

Raycast

As of June 2025, Raycast has several bugs making it impossible to use custom MCP Servers either in the "Quick AI Chat" or with models by Anthropic. For best results, use the separate "AI Chat" window with Gemini models.

Raycast natively supports adding MCP Servers via the Install Server command. Insert the following values:

  • Name: viral.app
  • Command: npx
  • Arguments: -y mcp-remote@latest https://viral.app/api/mcp

This should trigger an OAuth window to authenticate your account. Then, you can start using the server within Raycast, simply by mentioning it via @viral.app.

Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop supports MCP Servers via a similiar JSON configuration as Cursor. Access it in the settings under the Developer tab.

Windsurf

Windsurf supports MCP Servers via a similiar JSON configuration as Cursor.

Cline

Cline supports MCP Servers via a similiar JSON configuration as Cursor.

ChatGPT Desktop

Currently, ChatGPT Desktop does not support MCP Servers natively. They are working on it.

Troubleshooting

You can't authenticate the MCP Server?

  1. If you are redirect to new tab after sign-in that contains JSON which looks like this: { redirect: true, url: "http://localhost…" }, just click the link (or copy-paste it into your browser) to complete the authentication.

  2. If it still doesn't work, you can try resetting your mcp-remote cache by running the following command in your terminal:

rm -rf ~/.mcp-auth
How to fix the npx: command not found error?

To use MCP Servers, you need to have Node.js installed.

On macOS, you can install Node.js using Homebrew or directly from the official website.

On Windows, follow this guide.
