Cross-platform creatives
One video posted to several platforms, seen and paid as one creative.
A creative is one video a creator posted to several platforms, for example the same clip on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. viral.app finds these copies on the accounts you track and groups them, so you see how the video did everywhere at once and can pay for it once. Open Creatives, the second tab of Videos.
Each copy stays a tracked video with its own numbers. Your Videos list and analytics still count every copy; only campaigns that ask for it count a creative once.
How matching works
Matching runs every hour, and again shortly after a sync brings in new videos. It compares videos that:
- sit on one creator's accounts, or on your own accounts that have no creator,
- are on different platforms (a creative holds one copy per platform),
- went up within 14 days of each other.
viral.app compares the videos' frames, so a copy is found even when its caption or hashtags differ. A sure match becomes an Auto creative right away. A less certain one, such as an edited copy or a match on the caption alone, waits in Review for you.
Videos of two different creators are never matched automatically, but you can link them by hand. Accounts you track as competitors are left out.
Statuses
Auto: matched with high confidence. It counts as one creative and needs no review.Review: a likely match to check first. The badge's bars show how alike the videos look, and a caption icon means only their captions matched. Until you confirm it, the videos count separately.Confirmed: someone on your team linked or confirmed the copies.Dismissed: not one creative. The videos stay separate, and matching won't suggest them together again.Excluded: every copy, including copies that join later, is left out of analytics and payouts.
The status filter's Active shows Auto and Confirmed creatives, and Needs review the ones in Review. The crossed-out eye shows Excluded creatives. Account, date, platform and content type filters list a creative when one of its copies matches; tags match the creative's own tags.
Review and edit a creative
Review Allsteps through the suggestions: check the copies, thenConfirm(↵) orDismiss(D), and the next one opens. ← and → move between them.Edit Creativeadds or removes copies. Pick an account, then one of its videos.Link Creativelinks copies that matching missed. In a video's menu,Link to Creativestarts from that video. On the Videos tab, select one video per platform and useLink Creativein the selection bar.Same creator onlyis on by default: a creative stays on one creator's accounts, and the account list shows only theirs. Turn it off to link copies across creators; the creative then shows a warning.- Once a campaign that counts creatives has paid a period, confirming or dismissing asks first: changing a creative can pay a copy again, or not at all, in later periods.
Where creatives show up
- The Creatives table adds up the copies' views, likes, comments, shares and bookmarks. The toggle beside a creative's platform icons folds out its copies, with the best number in each column in green.
- A creative's details show one player for all copies, how views split across platforms, each platform's metrics over time, the copies and accounts behind it, and every copy playing side by side.
- In the Videos table, a copy shows
+Nfor its other platforms, and a video's details end with its creative. - On the Analytics overview, Top Videos can group by
Creatives. - Creators see their own creatives, read-only, and shared links can include creative details.
Tags and exclusions
Tags you add to a creative apply to every copy, including later ones. Tags only some copies carry show dimmed: Add to Creative gives them to every copy, Remove from all Copies takes them off. To keep a creative's tag off one copy, remove it in that copy's row. Only Auto and Confirmed creatives can be tagged. AI tag rules judge one copy of a creative and pass the verdict on, so only that copy uses credits.
Exclude from Analytics in a creative's menu leaves every copy out of analytics and payouts, and Re-Include in Analytics brings them back. A copy you also track as an individual video stays in.
Creatives in campaigns
A video posted to three platforms doesn't have to be paid three times.
- Set a campaign's video target to
Creativesto count each video once, however many platforms it's on. - A payout can count a creative's copies as one, or pay only its copy with the most views. See Videos posted to several platforms.
- Only
AutoandConfirmedcreatives count there. Suggestions inReviewstill count as separate videos. - Before you pay a due payout, its warnings flag videos not checked for copies yet (Scan Creatives checks them right there) and suggestions still waiting for review.
