Creator campaigns

Create campaigns with clear schedules, creator assignments, and payout rules before content goes live.

Campaigns define how creator work is grouped, measured, and paid. Open Campaigns to create a campaign or review existing campaign settings. If you are still mapping the operating model, start with the UGC campaign management overview.

Set up campaigns before creators publish content. Several payout settings are locked after campaign creation so past and future calculations stay consistent.

Campaigns define the creator assignments, active period, targets, base compensation, and performance payout rules.

Start with campaign basics

Give each campaign a clear name, description, currency, and active period. Use one campaign for one product, launch, market, or compensation model.

The campaign description is internal. Use it to summarize the purpose of the campaign and the work your team expects to review later.

Set the payout schedule

The payout schedule controls when viral.app groups eligible content for review. Choose the start date, payout cycle, and payout window before creators publish.

Dates use UTC. Confirm the campaign period and payout timing with your team before you create the campaign.

Choose base compensation

Base compensation pays creators for eligible videos or assigned work before performance bonuses apply.

Common base compensation options include:

  • Base payout per video: pays a fixed amount for each eligible video.
  • Fixed salary: pays a fixed amount for the payout period.
  • Video target: defines the expected number of videos for the campaign.

Use a base payout when you want to pay per eligible post. Use a fixed salary when a creator receives a recurring amount for the period.

Add performance compensation

Performance compensation pays creators based on results. viral.app supports CPM payouts and flat bonuses.

Use CPM payouts when you want payouts to scale with performance. CPM tiers can increase the payout rate as performance improves.

Use flat bonuses when you want creators to earn fixed rewards after reaching performance thresholds. Flat bonuses can pay the highest matching tier or combine tiers, depending on the rule you choose.

Set eligibility rules

Eligibility rules decide which videos count for the campaign and when they become ready for payout review.

Review these settings carefully:

  • Eligibility window: how long viral.app waits for a video's performance to mature.
  • Publication scope: whether the campaign includes all eligible videos or only videos published in the current payout period.
  • Platform exclusions: platforms that do not count for base payout rules.

Long eligibility windows can delay payout review. Use them when you need more time for performance to settle before calculating bonuses.

Review before you create

Use the campaign review step to confirm the schedule, payout rules, creator expectations, and payout simulation. After creation, only basic campaign details such as the title and description remain editable.

If a campaign rule is wrong after creation, create a new campaign with the correct rules instead of changing historical payout logic.
