Getting started
Is viral.app legit?
Yes. Brands show the pay before you apply, viral.app tracks your views and works out your pay from the job's rules, and the payout provider Talentir sends you the money, with a breakdown of every payout. Brands choose who they hire and approve each payout, so agree on the details in chat before you start posting.
Is my pay guaranteed? Is there escrow?
viral.app is the platform, and the agreement about the work and the pay is between you and the brand, as the creator terms explain. viral.app doesn't hold your pay in escrow. Before you post, check the pay rules under Details on your campaign, and agree on anything else in chat. A trust score for brands and on-platform contracts are launching soon to make this easier.
Does viral.app hire creators itself?
No. Brands post the jobs and decide who they hire. Apply in the Marketplace: sending videos or a pitch to viral.app support doesn't count as an application.
Can I join from outside the US?
Yes, from almost any country if you're 18 or older, and Talentir pays creators in more than 180 countries. Which payout methods you can use depends on your country and your bank, and the claim page only offers the ones that work for you (Countries). Each job sets the countries and languages it accepts, and most jobs today are for US-based, English-speaking creators. Add every language you create in to your profile to see more jobs. See Which jobs you see.
Is there a mobile app?
No app to download. viral.app works in your phone's browser, and browser notifications tell you about new messages and job offers. See Notifications and emails.
Jobs and applications
How long until a brand answers my application?
It depends on the brand. Popular jobs get many applications, so a reply can take days or weeks. An application without a decision closes after 14 days, and you can apply again. Sample videos in the style the job asks for give you the best chance; more in How to get hired.
Should I start posting before a brand accepts me?
No. Wait until your application is Accepted and the brand has assigned you to a campaign and added your accounts. Videos posted before that may not count. See Post videos that count.
Can I withdraw an application?
Yes, while it's Open, In Review, or Answered: choose Withdraw application in its row menu. You can apply to the same job again later.
Can I add videos I haven't posted to my portfolio?
No. Featured videos are links to public posts, and each one is checked once. Post your samples publicly first, then add the links. See Featured accounts and videos.
Can a brand use my videos in ads?
It depends on the job and what you agree with the brand. UGC Ads jobs are made for paid ads. Agree on how the brand may use your videos in chat before you post.
Working with brands
How do I connect my accounts to a brand's campaign?
The brand adds them. Send your handles to the brand in Chat, including any new account you started for the job. Once the brand tracks them, they show on its Accounts page.
How do I leave a campaign?
Before a brand accepts you, withdraw your application. After that, ask the brand in chat to remove you. There's no button to leave on your own. See Leave a brand.
Payouts
When do I get paid?
After each payout period ends and the brand approves the payout. Each campaign sets its own period, often a week, two weeks, or a month. There's no fixed approval time: Due means it's waiting on the brand. You get an email once it's ready to claim. See From earnings to payout.
Where do I add my bank or PayPal details?
Nowhere in advance. You choose a payout method on Talentir's claim page the first time you claim, and later payouts use it.
Why is my payout lower than I expected?
Your pay follows the campaign's rules, which the brand sets. Common reasons:
- per-video pay stops at the video target,
- a video needs a minimum number of views before it earns,
- views after a video's view window don't count,
- your first or last period was shorter, so fixed pay was reduced.
Open Show Breakdown on the payout to see every line. viral.app can't change a payout a brand issued, so if something looks wrong, ask the brand. See How campaign pay works.
Does viral.app take a cut?
No. The brand pays the platform fee. Some payout methods charge their own fee, such as 2.5% for PayPal, and you see it before you confirm. See methods and fees.
Who sees my address and phone number?
Only brands that accept you. Talentir may also ask you to verify your identity once, when you first claim a payout.
Account
How do I delete my account?
Go to User Settings, then General, and click Delete Account. You can't delete it yourself while a brand still has you as a creator, or once you have payout history; then contact support. See Delete your account.
Can I change my email address?
Yes, under Security in User Settings. The change applies right away, so make sure you can open the new inbox first.
