Modash or viral.app? Search for influencers, or pay creators on the views they get.

Both run creator campaigns from first contact to payout. The short version: pick Modash if you search for influencers by their audience, pitch them by email and pay them with gifts, fixed fees or Shopify commissions. Pick viral.app if creators apply to your job and you pay them on the views they get, with their posts tracked on five platforms and a lower bill once creators are paid through the tool.

viral.app adds Facebook and Snapchat. Modash covers more formats on its three: Instagram Stories and long YouTube videos.

We make viral.app, so read this with that in mind. Every Modash fact below comes from Modash's own site, pricing page, help center, terms and blog, checked on October 2, 2026, with links at the end. Where Modash doesn't say something, we write "Not public". Where its own pages disagree, we show both.

Creators: Modash lists public profiles automatically, so there's nothing to join. Creators can join the Canvas UGC marketplace from any country.

Each of these 11 jobs goes to the tool that does it better.

  • Finding influencers by their audience: Modash does this better.

A search of 350M+ public profiles with AI and image search, audience demographics, fake-follower rates and past brand deals. viral.app has no open database.

  • Creators who apply to your job: viral.app does this better.

Post a job on the Canvas UGC marketplace, and AI Matches ranks the creators who best fit it. Modash says it isn't a marketplace.

  • Paying creators on views: viral.app does this better.

Base pay, CPM tiers, bonuses and caps, tested on a creator's recent videos first. Modash pays fixed fees and Shopify commissions.

  • Shopify codes, gifting and affiliates: Modash does this better.

Discount codes, tracking links, gift links and commission tiers, with sales and ROAS per creator. viral.app has no store integration.

  • Email outreach at scale: Modash does this better.

Gmail or Outlook sync, a shared inbox, templates and sequences, up to 100 new bulk emails a day per inbox.

  • Plan price with creators paid through the tool: viral.app does this better.

$299 a month for 50 creators and $499 for 500. Modash lists Payments from Performance at $599 for 250, and Enterprise from $14,700 a year above that.

  • Plan price with creators paid outside both tools: Modash does this better.

Billed yearly, Essentials is $199 a month for up to 100 creators, against $239 on Ultra for 50 and $399 on Scale for 100.

  • Fees on a small payout budget: Modash does this better.

On Performance billed yearly, the first $10,000 a year of payouts is free. Under about $2,080 a month, that beats our 3%.

  • Platforms and accounts tracked: viral.app does this better.

Five platforms and any public account by URL, competitors included, up to your plan's tracked videos. Modash tracks Instagram, TikTok and YouTube for 100 or 250 creators at once.

  • Instagram Stories and long YouTube videos: Modash does this better.

Modash tracks Stories, Instagram photo posts and long-form YouTube. viral.app tracks short-form only: Reels, Shorts, TikToks and TikTok carousels, Facebook Reels and Spotlight.

  • Creator videos as ads: viral.app does this better.

Create Ad turns any tracked post into a TikTok Spark Ad or an Instagram or Facebook partnership ad, with paid views kept out of creator pay. Modash's pages don't describe ad tools.

Search for influencers, or have creators apply

Search is the center of Modash: every public Instagram, TikTok and YouTube profile with 1,000+ followers, with audience data, fake-follower rates and past brand deals, so you can vet a creator before the first email. Around it sit a CRM, email outreach, campaign tracking, payments and Shopify affiliates. Its own FAQ is clear about what it isn't: not an agency, and not a marketplace where creators browse and apply.

viral.app starts at the other end. You post a job, creators apply, and AI Matches ranks the creators who best fit it. Once they post, their videos are tracked and pay follows the views. So the question that decides it is where your creators come from and what you pay them for.

QuestionModashviral.app

Who Modash is great for

Modash is a strong tool, and for many influencer programs it's the better one. It fits best when:

You pick creators by their audience

Audience age, gender, location and interests, fake-follower rates, lookalikes and a timeline of past brand deals.

You sell on Shopify

Discount codes, tracking links, gift links and affiliate commission tiers, with orders, new customers and ROAS per creator.

You pitch creators by email

Gmail or Outlook sync, a shared team inbox, templates, sequences and creators' public emails.

It also tracks and downloads Instagram Stories and long YouTube videos, flags missing ad disclosures, lets creators turn on automatic invoicing, and comes with 24/7 chat, a success manager on every plan and a 14-day trial without a card. If that's your program, Modash is a sound choice. If the creators you want already post about you, Archive finds those posts instead, and partnrUP, formerly Bounty, hands recruiting and outreach to AI agents. The rest of this page is about creators paid on views.

What each costs for your program

Modash meters the creators you track and how much you search (opened profiles and email unlocks), and only Performance and Enterprise list Payments. viral.app meters the creators you run in Creator Hub and the videos you track, and every plan pays creators. The chart uses monthly billing; yearly billing takes $100 a month off Modash and about 20% off viral.app. There's no cost calculator on this page: ours can't model Modash's yearly fee-free allowance and would overstate its cost, so the chart and fee table below do the math.

US dollars a month on monthly billing, before fees on creator pay. Modash counts tracked creators, viral.app active creators in Creator Hub. Modash Enterprise is billed yearly, from $14,700, shown as $1,225 a month.

If creators are paid through the tool, viral.app costs less at every size: $99 against $599 for up to 10 creators, $299 against $599 for 50, and $499 against Modash Enterprise for 500. If you only need posts tracked, viral.app Pro at $99 ($79 yearly) tracks any public account by URL, up to 1,000 videos at once. Run creators in campaigns but pay them outside both tools, and Modash Essentials costs less on yearly billing from 11 up to 100 creators: $199 a month, against $239 on Ultra up to 50 and $399 on Scale up to 100. Up to 10 creators, viral.app Pro at $79 is cheaper.

Then the fee on creator pay. On Performance billed yearly, Modash charges nothing on the first $10,000 a year of payouts and commissions combined, then 5% above it. viral.app charges 3% on every payout, paid by you.

Creator pay a monthModash fee, Performance billed yearlyviral.app fee, 3%

$5,000$208$150
$10,000$458$300
$25,000$1,208$750

Below about $2,080 a month in creator pay, Modash's fee is lower. Above that, ours is lower, and the gap grows with the budget. With creators paid through the tool, and assuming Payments needs Performance, plan plus fee still favors viral.app at every size we checked: with 50 creators and $10,000 a month in pay, billed yearly, viral.app Ultra comes to $539 a month and Modash Performance to $957.

One gap in Modash's pages: its plan cards list Payments only on Performance and Enterprise, while its pricing and affiliate FAQs say every plan has a yearly fee-free allowance with 5% above it. They give the allowance only for Performance billed yearly ($10,000) and Enterprise ($100,000). Ask what yours is on Essentials or monthly billing before you sign.

Which one should you pick?

  • You find influencers by their audience: location, age, interests, fake followers and past brand deals.
  • You sell on Shopify and pay creators with gifts, discount codes, fixed fees or affiliate commissions.
  • You pitch creators by email at scale, and Instagram, TikTok and YouTube cover your channels.
Our product

Choose viral.app if…

  • You pay creators on views: base pay, CPM tiers, bonuses and caps, tested before launch.
  • You want creators to apply to your jobs instead of cold outreach.
  • You track Facebook and Snapchat too, run creator videos as Spark Ads or partnership ads, or want the API included.

Who pays what, and who does the paperwork

Both tools pay creators in 180+ countries and take the invoicing off your hands. They differ in who contracts with the creator and who pays the fee. Each column quotes that company's own marketing pages and terms.

QuestionModashviral.app
Who buys the creator's work

Modash, in its own name, then supplies it to you (terms 8.1). Creators invoice Modash OÜ, so there are no W-9s or 1099s.

You do: the creator contract is between you and the creator (our terms). Our payout partner pays them as merchant of record, with an invoice for you and a self-billed one in the creator's name.

Compliance, page vs terms

Its payments page says Modash carries the compliance liability. Its terms leave tax and employment compliance in your creator relationships to you, unless it agrees otherwise in writing (8.11).

Our payments page says the payout partner runs KYC, AML and sanctions checks and DAC7 reporting, and carries the liability for creators without a registered business. Our terms say viral.app only forwards payouts you approve; you contract with the payout partner, which is solely responsible for payments and compliance.

Funding

A USD, GBP or EUR balance, topped up by bank transfer against a proforma invoice from your success manager.

Free bank transfer by SEPA, UK Faster Payments, US ACH, wire or SWIFT, with no conversion fee. Cards aren't accepted.

What creators do

Sign up once with bank and tax details, then upload an invoice per payment or turn on automatic invoicing, which needs no uploads.

Open one claim link and pick a method. No account needed.

Modash pays by bank transfer in 36 local currencies, in 1 to 3 business days. viral.app pays by bank, PayPal, Venmo, USDC or EURC, in EUR, GBP, CHF or USD, and creators need no account. Neither takes a cut of creator pay; banks or payment methods can still charge creators a fee. On Modash, Payments is switched on by its team on request (terms 3.1), and affiliate programs need Performance on yearly billing, a connected Shopify store and Payments enabled.

What teams running creator programs say

  • David ParkJenni AI Founder

“viral.app has become core infrastructure for running organic marketing. It has helped us scale to over a billion organic views.”

  • Zack HargettQuizlet/Coconote Co-Founder

“viral.app feels like the first serious solution for managing high-volume UGC campaigns.”

  • Julian IvaldyWhoLiked Founder

“viral.app has solved our biggest pain points. It’s handling everything from global payouts to invoicing and tax accounting.”

Running both, or moving over

You don't have to pick one for everything. Modash is built to find influencers and run Shopify programs; viral.app to run creators paid on views. Some teams search and vet in Modash and run the creators they pay on views in viral.app, where any public account is tracked from its URL.

Before you move fully: yearly Modash plans renew unless you cancel 60 days before the term ends (terms 7.6), fees aren't refunded (7.3), and your data is deleted 90 days after you cancel, so export first. Its terms also limit the data Modash shows you to informational purposes (9.1) and ask you to delete data you received from it when the agreement ends (12.4), so check what that covers before you carry contact lists over.

  1. Day 1

    Add your creators' accounts

Paste the account URLs, or send us the list and we add them. Nobody has to sign up.

  2. Day 1

    Write your deals as rules

Base pay per video, CPM tiers and bonuses, tested on recent videos before anyone posts.

  3. First week

    Hire where you need more

Post a Canvas UGC or Influencer job and invite the highest-ranked matches.

  4. After that

Keep Modash for search, or cancel in time

Use it to find and vet influencers, or cancel a yearly plan at least 60 days before it renews.

Questions about Modash

Modash is an influencer marketing platform from Modash OÜ in Tallinn, Estonia. Brands use it to search public Instagram, TikTok and YouTube profiles with 1,000+ followers, vet their audiences, email them from Gmail or Outlook, track their posts and pay them. It calls itself Shopify-first, and it is self-serve software, not an agency or a marketplace.
